Including:

Timothy Johnston, Amanda Lisman, Roderick Glanville, Michael Delamont, Gina McIntosh, Jane Broomfield and Tonya Albers.

Shade, a Silverwing bat, defies the law and looks at the sun, initiating a chain of events that leads to the destruction of his home, and his colony's premature migration. During their flight south, he is separated from them during a storm. He befriends a Brightwing bat named Marina, and the two embark on a quest to rejoin the colony. Along the way, Shade becomes a master of the sound, painting pictures and creating illusions with echoes, and must navigate himself through a series of beliefs and worldviews, in order to find his own truth.

Silverwing has received numerous honours including the Mr. Christie Book Award, Ontario Library Associations Sliver Birch Award, and the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children Award.
